CHARACTER INFORMATION
Character Name: Poison
Age: Late 20-Early 30s
Canon: Originally from Final Fight, I shall be taking her from her Street Fighter IV!
Canon Point: After she fights Rolento (her rival) in her Arcade Story.
Character Information: Poison at the Street Fighter wiki / Poison at the Capcom wiki
Personality:
Poison had never had an easy life. Growing up in an orphanage in Metro City is one of the grimmest things that could happen and it was a tough life, learning to live without any luxuries. Instead of playing with other children in the playground, she ended up fighting them because more often than not, they would be picking on her slim build and her feminine features.
After beating the asses of those involved, Poison saw owning her femininity and sexuality as a way of getting back at people and getting ahead in life. She originally identified as male, but started dressing in a similar manner to her friend at the orphanage, Roxy (which annoys Roxy to no end, to this day). Now she identifies and presents as female, and it is something she is deeply proud of. She uses her sexuality as a shield, openly stating in her win quotes that she is hotter and sexier than anybody, with the added bonus that she could beat anyone to a pulp should they dare question her.
Fighting in booty shorts, a low cut top and high heels isn’t a problem for her. In fact, she is even more of a threat to everyone because 1) a six foot tall woman wielding a riding crop is terrfiying and 2) she can do it and do it well. Sexuality is deeply ingrained in Poison’s personality. It’s implied both in Final Fight and Street Fighter that she used to be a go go dancer and may or may not have solicited men for sex. Her move set in Street Fighter and Street Fighter x Tekken shows her using a riding crop, using it to beat her opponents into submission. Her Ultra Combo, is her getting the opponent under her heel and whipping their asses until they submit to her. She moves gracefully between wrestling moves, a more street orientated style and sexually provocative moves, a self made style which emphasises her womanly assets and the fact that she can crush most men in between her thighs.
She doesn't take lightly to any question that she may not be as ladylike or feminine as a biological woman, because she demonstrates time and time again that she is better than most women at being sexy. When Cody says that she's not much of a lady in the UDON Street Fighter comics, Poison responds with rage. It's the same in Street Fighter x Tekken where questions regarding Poison's ladyhood only come up as a win quote against her. It's an area where most people should tread lightly, because Poison is quick to anger and it doesn't take long before that devolves into violence for her.
One thing that she was not terribly good at doing, was keeping out of trouble. She is arrogant and flashy and doesn’t know when to turn it down. This has led to many run ins with the police who suspect her of causing trouble either being mistaken for a hooker or someone who started a brawl. “Being appropriate” is something that never crosses her mind, 9 times out of 10. It’s implied that she had been in one too many fights and joined Mad Gear not out of any want, but necessity. Being a member of the gang, with its links to police meant that she could keep out of jail in exchange for being good at a fight. Which to her, wasn’t a bad trade at all. It’s this kind of attitude that as long as she can keep doing what she does best, which is being sexy and fighting, she’ll use whatever circumstances she can to do this. This is what gets her started to join SIN’s tournament in Ultra Street Fighter IV, because she sees this as a way to recruit the best fighters for her promotion. As much as she loves fighting, she’d rather have other do it for her.
Poison isn’t by any means, a deeply violent character but for her it is usually the easiest and simplest solution, rather than wasting time talking it out. She doesn’t have much patience for bullshit. This contrasts with her unusual personality with the slow and unintelligent Hugo, who is arguably her closest friend in Mad Gear. She originally felt pity for Hugo, for being taken advantage of by other members of the gang. When she openly took his side and fought by him, a friendship was forged between them. They are often depicted with the tiny Poison sitting on Hugo’s broad shoulders. While it may look like Poison takes advantage of the fact that Hugo is nothing but pure muscle, she does have a lot of his best interests in mind because Hugo cannot think for himself and Poison does nothing but think. In Hugo’s storyline, Poison plays a large role as she is running a wrestling promotion with the intent of recruiting Hugo as her main event. When Hugo encounters her and says that he won’t take her orders, after beating her in a fight, Poison actually leaves him alone and respects his wishes for “if she stays any longer, she’ll turn into a potato.” (a concept, which excites Hugo because potatoes are his favourite food).
Another person she has a storied relationship with is Cody. She and Cody have fought time and time again when she was a member of Mad Gear and while she finds Cody cute, cute enough to list him as a thing she likes in her official profile (which includes french fries and her pet cat), he is one of the few men who consistently bests her in a fight and she will acknowledge this to be the case, grugingly. She sees something of her own recklessness in Cody, but the difference between them is that Cody is definitely a goody two shoes.
Ultimately, Poison is a self-made woman - in more ways than one. After being in Mad Gear, she is determined to be free on her own terms - which is why she starts her own wrestling promotion and is involved in promoting and training her talent. Because attendance is lacklustre, she even gets in the ring herself to try and spice up her own shows because if nobody's going to do it, then she might as well. She takes the initiative to join the SIN fighting tournament to recruit new fighters, because again - nobody's going to do it but her. And that suits her fine, because they all come her way in the end.

[ Poison looks up and down the empty street. Placing a hand on her hip, a deeply disinterested expression falls on her face. ]
All that effort into beating this punk and there was nobody around to watch it.
[ The punk in question, is an unfortunate man who thought he could start a fight with a lady. He had come to where Poison's wrestling promotion was based, hoping to be recruited. Poison had flat out rejected him, saying that he wouldn't last ten seconds in a fight.
That was something he took badly and tried to beat the hell out of Poison, thinking that she was just some manager. He looks worse for the wear as he lays on the ground with a swollen face, possibly missing some teeth and Poison's heel firmly on top of his head. ]
See? You gotta be respectful towards a lady.
[ Poison squats down, keeping her foot on this poor unfortunate soul's head. ]
Now you listen here. You don't come bothering me here at my promotion ever again. Do you understand?
[ There's a vague sound of assent coming from his mouth. Poison's not happy with this and points her riding crop threateningly as his face. ]
I'm sorry, is that a yes, Miss Poison?
[ A louder sound of assent comes from the man's throat. ]
Now get outta here.
[ She finally lifts her heels out of his face, dusting off her hands as she walks back through the doors of her promotion. Poison's sure that the paramedics will get to him eventually. ]

Revisions
Poison is selfish in so much as that she always thinks about her own self-preservation first, and then everything else. Her joining of Mad Gear was always to keep out of trouble, rather than any ideological or reasons of power. Her rise as one of Mad Gear's top members was not through any calculated means nor any way to reach the top and usurp power. She was keeping in everyone's good graces because the alternative was being in jail, and she doesn't want that.
In Ultra Street Fighter IV, her selfishness displays in the way she screens candidates for her wrestling promotion. Because she is keen to keep her source of livelihood going, that is all she looks for when she wins and subsequently beats fighter after fighter. She's not fighting for honour, nor for the thrill of the fight nor to bring down Seth and his gang. It's purely a convenient scenario for her to screen candidates. Her Rival match is against Rolento, and it's very clear that the only reason that this match is a rival match is because 1) she was one of his underlings in Mad Gear so they have some familiarity and 2) she knows he's a good fighter so she just needs to beat into his head that he'd be better in the ring rather in her words "playing soldiers." Her arcade ending is her completely putting her wrestling promotion to one side and chasing money and fame with her own rock band named the "Mad Gears", fronted by her composed of some of the fighters she's beat along the way (Cody, Guy, Hugo and Rolento with Ryu and Ken providing pyrotechnics). Their aesthetic suggests that these guys barely got any choice in the matter.
With regards to her being guarded, I confused this word with self-preservation (English isn't my first language). I'd be happy to remove this off her list of traits or change it with self-preservation.

[ Bavan reminded her of Metro City - all the grime and the technology and all of that gritty character. Her nose twitched slightly as she walked past a factory, the smell of metal and burning rubber intensely familiar yet completely foreign. Yuck.
It was the kind of place you went to when there was nothing left in your hometown and thought you'd have better luck in the big city to make it big, to make something of yourself. She hurried past the gates before the streams of workers would let out - she'd been enough scenarios where an attractive woman like her hanging around an industrial area led to pretty iffy scenarios.
The reason why she was walking around this area was because the rent was cheap and as a result, there were a plethora of small dive bars in the area, all filled with aspiring bands and actress slash model types looking to make it big by courting the occasional suit who came in here for a laugh. Usually these places were great for collecting information, because nobody thinks anyone's listening in a place like that. She reached the non-descript building and was promptly surprised when the door burst open, flying off its hinges. A big chunk of wood was headed straight towards her, and without really thinking about it, Poison spun and kicked it out of the way. ]

[ She'd been fighting long enough to know that familiar pain when you know you'd fucked up. Her leg had hit one of the metal hinges, leaving a scar that was now bleeding on her leg. She was still standing and that's what was important here - a door hadn't bested her. Nothing would. But she was going to ignore that pain in favour of looking at two drunk men and a haggard looking bartender who had come out. ]
Oh, miss! Miss! Are you hurt?
[ The bartender rushed towards her, wringing his hands worriedly. Poison could feel the blood oozing from her leg but she put her hand on her hip and hissed.]
I cut myself, does it look like I'm okay?
This is going on your tab, Ed! Come on miss, we can get you patched up in here...
[ The bartender, was still afraid to go near her because it was very clear that the only reason the door was a shattered mess on the street was because this woman had kicked it there. He look worriedly between the destroyed door, the drunken mass of humanity that had collapsed in the street after it and Poison's leg. ]
I've been through worse pops, but I like my legs. They're kinda sexy. I'd like to keep both of them.
S-sure miss! Please, this way!
[ He quickly bowed his head and indicated that Poison should go inside. She gave him another glare, before her gaze softening and letting out a sigh. Well, at least it was going to get looked at now rather than the end of a scrap.
With her hand still on her hips, she walked on inside, stepping on the body of one of the drunken men as she did so. Just something to make her feel better about the whole scenario. ]
